Vahe Berberian

An abstract expressionist, Berberian’s style has developed through the years into a minimalism that comes from shedding the superfluous, stripping down to the absolute basics of expression. The simplicity of his visions, rich in minimal imagery as well as letters and numbers, are stripped of their syntax, reflecting raw and palpable emotions.

To Berberian, painting is a physical process, “a kind of a dance, where my body and soul harmonize and move together,” he says, “and this is why music has become an integral part of the process of painting.”
