Born: 1967, Yerevan, Armenia
Martirosyan graduated from Terlemezyan Fine Arts College in 1986 and from the Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts in 1993.
Her works are characterized by Post-Modernism and Pop Art. Her shapes seem to cluster around the canvas into colonies of color. She believes that her artwork transcends into visual poetry. Her aim is to create an art of harmony. She wants her paintings to have a strong meditative impact, to be capable of absorbing the beholder into the painting. The viewer should see the artwork as reflective of their soul.
She currently lives and works in Yerevan.
The artist is the one who sees. The contradictions, being united in the artist and expressed by her/himself, transform into visual poetry. My aim is to create an art of harmony. Harmonies may be divided into elements of tone, color, and line. They may express a sense of joy, chilliness, admiration, and influence the infinite scale of human feelings. I want my paintings to have a strong meditative impact, capable of obsorbing the beholder into the painting. Art cannot save the human race, but it certainly can start a dialogue.
